San Francisco Events
We have a great listing of all the panels/events/parties going on next week during Web 2.0 Expo at web2.sched.org but I had to highlight on in particular that all you SF’ers should go to.
What: The Golem with Black Francis
When: Friday April 25th, 9:30pm
Cost: $20
Description: The Festival’s annual presentation of a classic silent film accompanied by an original score composed and performed by cutting-edge musicians. This year, legendary Pixies leader and alt-rock solo artist Black Francis will apply his ghoulishly pop musical idiom to Paul Wegener and Carl Boese’s 1920 German Expressionist masterpiece, The Golem. Set in 16th century Prague, this visual stunner—seen here in a beautiful archival print—tells the tale of a rabbi who fashions a proto-Frankenstein’s monster, sculpted from rough clay and brought to life through sorcery, to protect the Jewish ghetto from a Christian emperor’s decree that it be dissolved. Suffice it to say that nothing goes as planned; fortunately, Black Francis will be on hand to match the monster’s every move with appropriately chilling aural enhancements.
THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME
