Last.FM Solution (or my own stupidity?)
I am a *huge* Last.FM fan and have been using their plugin since 2003 to keep track of what I listen to. For the past 4 months however, the Winamp plugin wasn’t working for me no matter what I tried (clearing cache, reinstalling, trolling support forums). I never installed the Official Last.FM Client because I don’t use their player or custom radio stations. I just wanted it to log what I listen to. I knew that they had officially stopped supporting the Winamp plugin (though I wasn’t sure why) and I had pretty much given up hope that Last.FM would ever work for me again unless I changed my media player (which ain’t gonna happen).
Today I installed their official client and realized that while it does enable me to do things like listen to custom radio stations it also logs whatever I play on my computer (whether that be Winamp, WMP etc) on to Last.FM. Finally the shit works again. Ugh. </whine>
